This month, we’re excited to launch a new series of spotlights, featuring insights from scholars, creators, innovators, and connectors from across our networks on the East Coast. To kick it off, we invited our CEO Philippe Roesle to reflect on his first few months in Boston, and how it surprised him. What struck him most wasn't the depth of expertise here, but the spirit behind it — "a collective conviction that innovation is not only about building technologies, but about thinking through the futures we want to create." In the spirit of intentionally shaping our futures, this month we feature several events which examine the ways we connect with each other, and how technology can help — and sometimes hinder — these connections. With the IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research, we're exploring how our online personas shape our sense of self, and how social isolation might be countered through more intentional approaches to media and new practices of community-oriented care. In collaboration with Swissnex in San Francisco, we're launching a new online series exploring how immersive audio can deepen the ways we know, remember, and connect. In New York, we're looking at how AI can support multilateral diplomacy, and in Boston, we're asking how AI might expand conversations — from international to interspecies.
